Scottsville derives its revenues from utility taxes, meals tax, business and professional licenses, bank franchise tax, locality share of sales taxes collected by the state, transient occupancy tax, and other revenue producing sources.
The Town of Scottsville does not collect real estate or personal property taxes. Scottsville property owners pay real estate and personal property taxes to that county in which their property lies (Albemarle or Fluvanna).
