Architectural Review Board

The Architectural Review Board (ARB) serves to communicate and support the Town’s Zoning Ordinance in order to “preserve and protect historic places and areas in the Town through the control of demolition…and…regulation of architectural design and uses of structures.”  Learn more about the Scottsville Historic District.

  • Meetings are held the first Thursday of each month at 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers, Victory Hall, 401 Valley Street. See the Town Meetings and Events Calendar.
  • If you are interested in serving on the Architectural Review Board, or if you would like to request that an issue be placed on the agenda of a meeting, please call the Town Office at 434.286.9267, or email the board members.

If you are planning work on the exterior of your building, and your property is located in the Historic Overlay District or the Entrance Corridor Overlay District, please contact the Zoning Administrator’s Office at 434.286.9267 in advance. The Administrator will determine if your changes are exempt from review by the ARB, or if they require a Certificate of Appropriateness.
