The Scottsville Lions Club has set up six locations around Scottsville where used and obsolete eyeglasses can be donated by simply dropping them in a box. The Lions green and yellow eyeglass donation boxes can be found at the Scottsville Post Office, the Scottsville Library, Dominion Bank, Truist Bank, Baine's Books & Coffee, and the Rivertown Antiques breezeway.

Once a month, the eyeglasses are collected by a volunteer and delivered to the Lions Eyeglass Recycling Center in Arlington. There they are graded, refurbished and then computer matched to a waiting needy person somewhere in the United States. “You can turn those eyeglasses for which you have no further use into the gift of improved vision for someone who cannot afford to buy eyeglasses,” says Scottsville Lions President Bryan Nettleton. “It's an easy, painless good deed,” he concluded.
