Maintenance on Stony Point Water Tank

This is the water tank on Blenheim and Holly Roads.

The Albemarle County Service Authority (ACSA) is scheduled to take our Stony Point Water Tank out of service on Monday, July 17, 2017 for a cleaning and inspection.  The work is scheduled for Tuesday, July 18th.  Once the work is completed, the ACSA will begin refilling the tank.  We anticipate the tank being offline for one to two weeks.  Domestic water pressure will be maintained by the Scottsville Pump Station.  These pumps are not rated to provide adequate fire flows, so all fire hydrants in the Scottsville area should not be relied upon to fight fires.  In a controlled manner, they can be used to slowly refill tankers.  We regret the inconvenience and have been working to minimize the downtime during this shutdown.  We will keep everyone informed as we work to bring the tank back online following all appropriate bacteriological testing.  Please contact me if you have any questions.
